Donauer Solartechnik cooperates with Avancis GmbH & Co. KG

Donauer Solartechnik will be cooperating more closely with the solar module manufacturer Avancis.

Beginning immediately, the specialist wholesaler will be distributing the CIS thin-film solar modules of the PowerMax brand. According to Carl Freudhoefer, Head of Purchasing at Donauer Solartechnik, the market is developing an understanding for the opportunities and applications of thin-film products:  "From our point of view, we are bringing on board the leading German manufacturer and the best product in the area of CIS thin-film technology."

As a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, Avancis benefits from longstanding experience in coating and heat treatment of glass, two core competencies of the world's leading supplier of glass for construction and automobile applications. Hartmut Fischer, CEO of Avancis, values Donauer Solartechnik for its experience and its quality awareness. "Especially the qualified support and excellent customer service, as well as the great retail network throughout Germany and Europe have convinced us," says Fischer.

The PowerMax modules have an output of 100-120 Wp and have an efficiency of up to twelve percent. This ranks them among the most powerful products in this segment. The modules manufactured in Germany are economically efficient and connect premium manufacturing quality with elegant design. Thanks to their excellent shading and weak light behavior, they are especially suitable for roof systems of single-family homes and trade businesses.

Avancis develops and produces thin-film PV modules on a CIS basis (copper indium selenide). The manufacturing process is based on second-generation CIS technology. The company has already achieved efficiencies of around 15 percent in lab tests.
